Meet the team

Years ago, Wilbert Mollel founded the Kiliwarriors — a team built to transform ordinary lives through the once-in-a-lifetime challenge of Mount Kilimanjaro. In 2012 he crossed paths with Gerry Analytis, and a shared passion for the mountains became Kiliwarrior Expeditions.

We're more than a group of people — we're a community. Renowned for exceptional safety standards, superior service, and uncompromising attention to detail, our team stands as the premier outfitters for those who dare to reach new heights. That care is how we've earned a 95% success rate — something we're immensely proud of.

A Kiliwarrior is a devoted professional with one goal: to help you stand on the Roof of Africa.

Our porters

Kiliwarrior Expeditions employs its own team of porters — we never subcontract at the gate. We train new staff in-house, and we're proud to employ female team members who climb with us whenever they wish to. Their welfare is our highest priority.

How we look after our team

  • Fair loads. We cap each porter's load at a maximum of 33 pounds (15 kilos) and bring on additional porters, free of extra cost, whenever a team's load exceeds this.
  • Above-industry wages. We compensate our hardworking porters at above-industry-standard wage rates for their efforts.
  • Dressed for every zone. As we cross the climate zones of Kilimanjaro, each porter is given the appropriate clothing and shelter for each climate.
  • Well fed. Our team chefs prepare hearty, healthy meals that provide the energy needed to complete the climb.
  • Daily medical checkups. We conduct daily medical checks for every porter, and any concern is dealt with promptly — descending for further treatment if necessary.
  • Room to grow. Porters are granted further-education opportunities to enhance their skills, opening a path toward promotion to climbing guides.

Your Kilimanjaro journey

The route we treasure most.

We highly recommend the 9-Day Lemosho – Western Breach route. Unlike the more established trails, this climb stays untamed, challenging and astoundingly picturesque. It begins in the lush Rainforest Zone and takes in landmarks like the imposing Lava Tower and the Western Breach — a genuinely unforgettable way to the top.
